Black Lentils
First KPCB lentil trial in India
Two plots of 1.2 acres each with similar soil conditions. The KPCB field was irrigated only 3 times over the 9-week growing season and received no fertilizer. The control field was irrigated weekly and required urea application. This was the first KPCB technology test on lentils in India.
| Parameter | Kyminasi (KPCB) | Control | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total Yield ★ Top Result | 120 kg | 90 kg | +33% |
| Fertilizer Applied 100% Less | None | Urea applied | Zero inputs |
| Irrigations Over 9 Weeks | 3 times | Weekly | 66% less water |
| Time to Harvest | ~7 weeks | 9 weeks | 2 weeks earlier |
| Grain Color & Quality | Deeper black pigment | Standard | Superior |
| Plot Size | 1.2 acres | 1.2 acres | Matched |
Note: This was the first Kyminasi KPCB™ technology trial conducted on lentils in India. Both plots had similar soil conditions and were managed identically — the only variable was the use of KPCB-treated irrigation water.
The KPCB field was irrigated just 3 times over the entire 9-week growing season and received no fertilizer of any kind. Despite this, it outproduced the control field by 33% — harvesting 30 kg more lentils per 1.2 acres — while also reaching harvest two weeks sooner and producing lentils with visibly deeper black pigmentation. The control field, irrigated weekly and treated with urea, could not match the output of the unfertilized KPCB plot.
