Treated plants regrew after winter while the controls did not.
The plants received no additional KPCB watering after December 21, 2019. During winter, all plants either died back or entered dormancy. Around mid-February 2020, approximately 60 days later, the Crop Booster-treated plants were reported to begin regrowing without additional care.
Winter Exposure
Plants were left unattended outdoors and exposed to rain, snow, cold, and freezing temperatures.
Control Plants
The untreated-water control plants were reported not to recover when temperatures improved.
Mid-February Regrowth
Crop Booster-treated cabbage plants were reported to begin regrowing around mid-February 2020 without additional intervention.
Spring Growth
By mid-March, the treated plants were reported to show rapid and tall new growth as temperatures increased.
Period: July 2019 – March 2020 · Crop: Ornamental Cabbage
Trial Design: Three Crop Booster variations vs. untreated control · Best Variation: Tech 6
Watering Ended: December 21, 2019 · Regrowth Observed: Mid-February 2020
This case study is based on observational documentation rather than a numerical yield dataset. The supplied source reports that the treated plants received less than three weeks of KPCB watering, remained unattended through winter, began regrowing around mid-February, and showed continued spring growth while untreated controls did not survive.
Why this matters for growers: Crop survival and the ability to resume growth after severe weather can be important where plants face prolonged cold or winter stress. In this Como observation, the Crop Booster-treated ornamental cabbage plants were reported to resume growth after winter exposure, while the untreated control plants did not survive.
